William Banks of the University of Louisville interviews Jack Gibb on his concept of Defensive and Supportive Communication.  Dramatizations illustrate each of the principles of defensive and supportive behavior. Gibb discusses his famous article on "Defensive Communication" which delineates factors in communication which lead to either defense arousal or to trust. The factors demonstrated in this videotape are:
